The ore treatment plant is three stage crushing at surface, milling, flotation,
and filtration plant which processes a chalcopyrite ore to produce
a chalcopyrite concentrate.
This plant uses secondary, tertiary and quaternary crushing to
produce the crushed ore feed for the grinding mills. Tailings are
discharged at the Princess Creek Tailings Dam located 8.5 kms away from the site.
Concentrates are transported by road from the filter shed to the
Melba Flats railway siding, 35 kilometres away and then to the port
of Burnie for export to India.
